Dr Ashley Dunne is a registered and endorsed clinical and forensic psychologist. She holds a Doctorate in Psychology (Clinical & Forensic) and is also an AHPRA Board-approved supervisor.
Ashley brings a wealth of experience from her work across hospital, community, and forensic mental health services, as well as private practice. This diverse background has equipped her with a deep understanding of the complexities of mental health and the challenges individuals face across different contexts and stages of life.
Ashley also holds an academic appointment as a Senior Lecturer with the Centre for Forensic Behavioural Science, where she teaches into postgraduate programs and provides supervision to students undertaking advanced training in clinical and forensic psychology.
Known for her warm, compassionate, and non-judgemental approach, Ashley
prioritises creating a safe, respectful, and supportive space where clients feel
genuinely heard, understood, and accepted—no matter what they bring to therapy. Ashley works alongside her clients to help them develop a deeper understanding of themselves, explore the underlying experiences and patterns that may be contributing to their current challenges, and implement practical strategies to support meaningful and lasting change. Her aim is to help clients not only reduce distress but also to reconnect with their inner strengths, build emotional resilience, and foster deep self-awareness and long-term personal growth.
Outside of her clinical work, Ashley enjoys the balance of family life and the Bayside lifestyle. Living near the beach gives her the chance to recharge by the water and spend meaningful time outdoors with family and friends. Some of her happiest moments are watching her two young daughters play or baking together in the kitchen—where joy often comes as much from the process as the result. She is also an avid reader, whether it’s diving into biographies or relaxing with a lighthearted rom-com novel, and she enjoys unwinding with a good Netflix series. These everyday pleasures keep her grounded and remind her of the importance of connection, curiosity, and balance—values she also brings into her work with clients.
