Angie Sloan is a compassionate, experienced counsellor who offers support for individuals facing a range of mental health challenges, including anxiety and depression and has a particular passion for working with those experiencing eating disorders and the carers who support them.
Angie holds a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology/Physiology) and a Master of Counselling, is a registered member of the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) and ANZAED credentialed. Angie’s most recent work was with Eating Disorders Families Australia (EDFA) where she played a key role in establishing their National Fill the Gap program and supported carers across Australia. She is also involved in researching the trajectory of ARFID.
Drawing on evidence-based therapies such as Enhanced Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT-E), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Family Based Therapy (FBT), Temperament Based Therapy with Support (TBT-S), and Mindfulness, Angie tailors her approach to meet each client’s unique needs. Angie’s work is neuroaffirming and inclusive. She warmly welcomes neurodivergent clients and those supporting neurodivergent loved ones.
With lived experience caring for her own daughter, Angie deeply understands the emotional and practical challenges faced by families. She combines professional expertise with lived experience to support and empower individuals and families throughout their recovery journey.
